The seder of the day starts with Modeh Ani.
And this is said before Negel Vasser even with tomay hands -
Because all the tumos of the world cannot defile the "Modeh Ani"
the "I acknowledge" of a Yid.
He might lack one thing or another but his Modeh Ani stays intact.
